Setting the Stage

The origin, philosophy, and world of Kurohana — a chronicle testing questions of power, prosperity, and freedom across generations.

November 7, 2025

Elarra is a vast, beautiful, and untamed world. An earthlike planet shaped by law and wonder. Its lands obey the general principles of physics; its creatures, the slow grind of evolution, of hunger, adaptation, and will. Yet beneath that natural order stirs something deeper: magic.

Magic in Elarra is real, but never safe. It can be studied, harnessed, even shaped—but never truly tamed. It is magnificent and perilous, a force that blesses as easily as it destroys. Some are born to it. Some awaken to it. A rare few master it enough to reshape the world.

Across Elarra lies the continent of Aurellia, home to many civilizations—kingdoms, republics, city-states, and countless bands of outlaws, pirates, and warlords. Savage monsters roam freely through the wilds of West Aurellia; grand cities rise in the heart of Central and South Aurellia; and to the East and North lie lands shrouded in mystery and myth.

This is the stage. It is Elarra and the lands that sustain life—that make the stories possible, not the other way around.

What conditions allow a civilization to rise, to become safe, prosperous, and self-sustaining? What causes others to falter, to decay, or remain fragile?

In West Aurellia, four founders meet and forge an organization known as Kurohana Black Flower. Born in violence and rooted in doctrine, it becomes the crucible through which civilization, conflict, and belief are tested across generations.

Kurohana is not a utopia. It is built by individuals; each marked by flaws, ignorance, and ambition. For those who join, and those who bear its family name, there is continuity in doctrines that cultivate stability, liberty, and strength.

It is through their eyes that the story of Kurohana unfolds. Generation after generation.
